Ah, Friday.  The big TGIF- Thank God It’s Friday! (aka I think I will shoot myself if I have to go to class tomorrow)

Not only are classes done for the week and we as students are getting a small breath of fresh air but tonight is a big party night.  What could be better than chilling with your friends or going to a party?  Not much really right?

Well, what if there’s nothing to do?  You just sit.

And sit.

And check facebook.

And then when you’ve discovered that facebook has nothing to offer you after you hit the refresh button 3 times you sit.

And sit.

And check facebook again.

And sit.

And feel lame for sitting.

One could say that the thing to do is call up some friends, get out of your room, you can’t rely on other people to do it for you.  Communication is a two way street after all.

This is true however, what if you don’t feel like it.  Like you want to go out but at the same time are still scrambling for something to do on the computer.  Or what if you have plans and it’s too close to go out and do something else before your plans?  You’re stuck on the computer and facebook being lame.  

While this may seem depressing, it’s not.  Solitude can be a blessing and sometimes we need that silence.  We can use to think profoundly or we can enjoy the surroundings of just you.  Not random people in the food court, not you loud friends who you still love.

Just you.

So enjoy Friday, whether it be alone or with friends and sleep in tomorrow and rejoice in the fact there are no classes.
